Delete your account and data
App: Glimp — Missed Connections (com.ameriagroup.glimp)
Developer: Ameria Group B.V., Zuid-Willemsvaart 111-A, 5211 SC ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands (KvK 51540312).
You can delete your Glimp account, and everything attached to it, at any time. You do not need to ask us for permission and you do not need to give a reason.
In the app (fastest)
- Open Glimp and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap your avatar (the round initial in the top-right of the home screen).
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are removed immediately and you are signed out.
This is permanent. There is no undo, and the same email address can be used to start over with a fresh account.
By email
Lost access to the app or your account? Email support@glimp.online from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We handle these requests promptly and within 30 days at the latest, as required by the GDPR.
Deleting only part of your data
You do not have to delete your whole account to have data removed. Email support@glimp.online from the address you signed up with and tell us what to remove — a Glimp you posted, a photo you shared, or any other item. We delete it and your account stays intact.
Two things happen on their own, without any request: chat messages disappear 24 hours after they are sent, and a Glimp stops being visible once it expires.
We handle these requests promptly and within 30 days at the latest, as required by the GDPR.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes the personal data we hold about you:
- your account and sign-in details (email address, first name, password hash);
- the Glimps you posted, and the responses you sent or received;
- your matches and all chat messages in them;
- photos you uploaded, including any shared in chat;
- your XP progress and Storybook;
- your block and report preferences.
What we may keep, and for how long
- Limited records we are legally required to retain — for example records relating to a safety report or abuse investigation, or where retention is required by law. These are kept no longer than necessary for that purpose.
- Aggregated, anonymous analytics — counts and events that can no longer be linked to you or your device. This data contains no personal information and is not deleted, because it cannot be traced back to you.
- Encrypted backups — deleted data can persist briefly in routine backups before those are rotated out, after which it is gone for good.
Messages in Glimp chats disappear 24 hours after they are sent, whether or not you delete your account.
